Significant efforts have been undertaken to enhance urban greenery and improve environmental sustainability across various locations. The greenbelts at Double Pulia, Kakadeo, Railway Ground (LOCO), Lakshmanbagh Colony, and several Nagar Nigam parks have been transformed through systematic landscaping, plantation drives, and regular maintenance. These initiatives have improved the aesthetic appeal of public spaces, increased green cover, and contributed to a healthier urban environment for residents.
Special emphasis has been placed on developing and rejuvenating parks and open spaces with the objective of promoting biodiversity, reducing pollution, and creating recreational areas for the community. Native and environmentally beneficial species have been planted to ensure long-term ecological balance.
In collaboration with educational institutions and local stakeholders, plantation campaigns have been organized on a large scale. At CSJM University, 51 Chandan (Sandalwood) saplings were planted as part of a dedicated initiative to promote valuable and indigenous tree species. Overall, more than 5,000 saplings of various species have been planted across different locations, contributing substantially to the expansion of green cover and supporting climate resilience.
These initiatives reflect a strong commitment towards environmental conservation, sustainable urban development, and creating cleaner, greener, and healthier surroundings for present and future generations.
